Road to Conquest

Grepolis Conquest Requirements

In order to Conquest another city we need:

Warehouse 20 – (Ceramics researched) to have enough resource space to research Conquest.
Academy 28 – Colony Ship and Conquest researched.
Harbor 20 – Requirement to build Colony Ship
Population – 170 reserved for Colony Ship – wait to research ‘Plow’ to give you 200 extra population.

…and finally a Colony Ship built. Build your CS last. It represents time and materials and, if you are not ready to sail it, it is a savory target (170 BP) for an enemy.

In order to Conquest a city you need to:
1. Clear the harbor of its navy;
2. Clear the city of its land units;
3. Land your Colony Ship with its escort (Light Ships/Bireme & Transports/troops;
4. Support the city with additional defensive land units (DLU)

At that point the owner of the city loses control of their city, and a twelve hour siege begins. At the end of the siege the city is yours.

Typically this is done in stages. Light ships clearing the harbor, offensive land units (OLU) clearing the city (w/Light Ship escort), the Colony ship landing with its escort (bireme/trireme/light ships, transports & Land troops), and finally support landing after to protect the siege.

The intensity and the timing of these attacks will vary wildly depend on the city being taken. If it is an inactive city without an alliance this can happen quite leisurely. If it is against an active player with a strong alliance the timing between the Light ships attacking and the support landing will be less than a minute.

If the owner of the city is in an alliance, the alliance has those 12 hours of the siege to kill the Colony Ship. This can be by attacking with offensive land units (DLU) on the same island, flying units (Harpies/Manticore), or more commonly by Light Ships.

New players please note:
You can colonize with a colony ship on an anchor point (academy level 22), but please don’t colonize on an island without farms for your second city. Early in the game it is also very advantageous to build on your next city on a different island with a new set of farm villages (resources) & Island Quests (coins) to buy and upgrade heroes.
